Recyclable glass jar.

This is a powerful pot of ‘nature knows best’ back-to-basics pizazz. It’s really very simple: a hearty herbal blend to add to hot water and create the sort of natural steam which is perfect for

  • unblocking congested noses
  • helping to clear inflamed sinuses
  • relieving foggy tiredness and stress
  • calming and soothing headaches

Added skin benefits…
Because a product which multi-tasks is always the ideal, I wanted to take the steaming potential to open and clarify pores here up a notch (why not?) and so the base of the blend is pure green tea, which is wonderful for skin; nutrient rich, anti-inflammatory/anti-irritation and packed with omegas, minerals, vitamins, fatty acids and other things which give cells a boost.

Let’s be clear: with this breathe-easy blend, time spent over a steaming bowl with a towel over your head is time well spent.

web_3790The ritual (just add music…):
Pour some just-boiled water into a small bowl and add about a tablespoon of the blend, mixing quickly to release the vapours into the water. Put your head over the bowl with a towel over your head (to create a tent to stop the steam escaping). Close your eyes and breathe in the vapours for about 10 minutes.
(If your nose is very blocked, aim to inhale through your nose just as much as you can – this will become much easier after a few breaths; in fact it’s good to keep tissues within reach because the steam may decongest your pipes quite efficiently!)
Afterwards, blow your nose, rejoice in the good fortune and luxury of being able to breathe, discard the water and finish with the Gentle Rosewater Toner with Green Tea, Volcanic Clay & Balancing Geranium to clear away any lifted dirt/toxins and leave your skin clear and pores tightened.

Key ingredients/benefits:
Green tea: a skin-loving all-rounder, high in antioxidants (protecting the skin from free-radical damage), anti-inflammatory, full of nutrients… See this page.

Thyme: Thyme has strong antibacterial properties (including against Propionibacterium acnes, a bacterium that causes acne) and is also an expectorant, which means it can help remove mucus from your airways and lungs. Its clarifying aroma can also help with fatigue and stress.

Lavender: A lovely traditional herbal remedy for relaxation, it’s soothing for headaches and has skin-conditioning qualities of its own.

Mint: Refreshing, cooling and brightening. A perfect pep-up herb.
