50+ Ways to Reuse Your Empty Leafology Containers

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

Sustainable thinking doesn’t have to stop when you’ve enjoyed the last drop of your Leafology product.

One of the reasons we choose aluminium and glass packaging is because it’s durable, recyclable and often useful long after its original purpose has been fulfilled. Before you place your empty container into the recycling, why not see if it could enjoy a second life?

Here are some favourite ideas for reusing Leafology jars, tins, aluminium bottles and amber glass bottles…

You could use them for:

  • Cooking oil
  • Olive oil
  • Chilli oil
  • Vinegar
  • Soy sauce
  • Salad dressing
  • Lemon juice
  • Plant feed concentrates

Larger bottles can even become rustic vases or decorative storage containers around the home.

Reusing Your Amber Glass Bottles

Amber glass has long been used to protect delicate ingredients from light, making it perfect for a wide range of refill and storage uses.

Try reusing yours for:

  • Vanilla extract
  • Cocktail bitters
  • Homemade botanical preparations
  • Seed storage
  • Tiny keepsakes
  • Dried flower collections
  • Craft projects
  • Sand from memorable beaches
  • Pressed flower petals
  • Lavender buds
  • Pine needles from favourite walks
  • Message-in-a-bottle notes
  • Wedding confetti
  • Children’s first tooth
  • Holiday mementoes
  • Memory capsules
  • Tiny photographs rolled inside
  • Bud vase
  • Shelf styling accessory
  • Fairy light bottle

Our clear glass bottles can be used similarly, and the smaller bottles are especially useful for decanting into for travel, e.g. if you know you love the Good Face Day Serum / Overnight Face Food / Shine Elixir Hair Food (etc.), you can buy the larger versions as standard but keep the 10ml starter bottles to decant into when you go away.

You can even re-use the tiny 5ml glass bottles/tins that we send out with orders (the mini ‘Try Me’ samples of products). These make exceptionally cute containers, which we know are very popular, especially with children.

Before You Recycle

If you’ve reached the end of a container’s useful life, both aluminium and glass can be widely recycled. The labels, while carbon neutral, may need to be peeled off and discarded first.

But if you can find a new purpose for your packaging first, you’ll be helping to reduce waste while getting even more value from every container.

We’d love to see how you’ve reused yours.

Share a photo of your repurposed Leafology container and inspire others to give their packaging a second life.
