Description

Frankincense. Nutmeg. Bay. Blue lotus. Hemp. Juniper. Abyssinian. Emerald sea grass….

Despite its decadent ingredients list, this all-purpose, soothing balm is perfect for those who like all the goodness with minimal fuss. Apply it wherever your skin feels dry, sub-par or irritated, and let our beautiful plant ingredients do their thing.

Created for men (but suitable for all), the intriguing scent is an individual, nostalgic hint of ocean navigation, exploration and wonder. The natural bluey-green hue speaks of deep sea diving and sea-nutrient bliss, destined to ease your skin into calm submission.

What does it feel like?
… Like a lightweight balm that melts into a luxurious oil in warm weather or when in contact with the skin. The texture is silky-light, meaning a small amount goes a long way, it spreads well and absorbs magnificently.

MULTIPURPOSE: Nourish | Cleanse | Lips | Face | Body | Beard | Shaving | Hands Deeply moisturising face mask.

– As a cleansing oil: massage a pea-sized amount into dry skin to loosen, lift & remove make up & dirt. Remove with a warm, damp cloth or pad, or just with water. Use in rotation (if you like) with the PURIFYING PRO-GLOW YELLOW GOLD CLEANSING BALM WITH TURMERIC, GREEN TEA, TEA TREE & MEADOWFOAM. (And click to read about how cleansing with oil works, even for oily skin!)
– As a moisturiser: apply to dry or damp skin (applying to damp skin can lock in the hydration), massage in & glow!
– As a mask (nourishing & moisturising): massage in and leave for as long as you like (overnight, if you like!) before massaging again and rinsing away.

Key ingredients/benefits:
BLUE LOTUS: the Blue Lotus flower has a rich historical and cultural significance, particularly in ancient Egypt and other parts of East Asia. In ancient Egyptian civilization, the Blue Lotus was revered for its spiritual and medicinal properties, often associated with relaxation, tranquility, and heightened states of consciousness.

EMERALD SEA GRASS: has a light, green herbaceous scent with aquatic marine undertones. Originating from Newfoundland and steam distilled from the leaves, this underwater treasure grows in shallow, brackish waters and has a fresh, uplifting aroma as well as some moisturising qualities.

ABYSSINIAN OIL: Both luxurious and light, it contains a high percentage of an Omega-9 fatty acid that helps to give hair a glossy feel and skin suppleness.

HEMP: a famously healing herb – light, easily absorbed, anti-microbial, high in omegas and minerals and full of vitamin E and ultra-softening nutrients.

BLACK SEED: a natural hair tonic traditionally used to improve the condition of hair. It’s naturally anti-fungal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial; perfect prevention/help for skin conditions. A snippet of plant-knowledge wisdom if ever there was one: ‘Use the Black Seed for indeed, it is a cure for all diseases except death.’

BLUE TANSY: a vivid, blue delight! Historically, blue tansy has been used in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory and calming properties. The essential oil is rich in chamazulene, which contributes to its vibrant blue color and is believed to possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities. In traditional practices, blue tansy has been used to alleviate skin conditions, soothe irritated skin, and reduce signs of inflammation.

GRAPESEED: Non-comodogenic (doesn’t clog pores), this clever oil is light and dreamy, balances sebum, moisturises and is said to restore collagen in the skin. Its linoleic acid helps strengthen cell membranes. It’s also astringent, meaning it tightens pores. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory – meaning it works on problem areas as well as preventing future ones.

ORGANIC ARGAN: One of my favourite things about this oil, is that, like the others carefully chosen for this blend, it doesn’t cause blockages, spots or oil build up. Full of antioxidants, vitamin E and essential fatty acids, many claim it boosts elasticity of the skin (keeping things looking fresh and vibrant) and it’s another balancing oil that helps keep your complexion on an even keel.

NUTMEG, BAY LEAF, FRANKINCENSE, CORIANDER, BLACK PEPPER & CLARY SAGE: these essential oils are warm, appealing and complex in aroma, balancing the fresh marine scents with a mysterious spicyness; all do good things for the mind & body; a magical, deeply layered combination.

MANGO BUTTER: anti-inflammatory, deeply moisturising, soothing and replenishing.

TEA SEED OIL: The tea plant is known for its high antioxidant content (meaning it fights free radical damage) and is anti-inflammatory. It’s a beautiful thing to connect with your skin, hence this page!

MANDARIN, CEDARWOOD, PATCHOULI & LAVENDER: Anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and gentle, lavender is renowned for its soothing, calming natural aroma. A woody, earthy note with natural properties of astringency and calming, patchouli soothes and tones skin and stimulates the generation of new cells. The healing qualities of frankincense have long been known. Steam distilled from the resin of the Boswelia genus of trees, it has a rather regal scent which is also calming and uplifting, and it’s even thought to lift and tighten skin naturally. Mandarin adds a softly uplifting, citrus note.

  1. Ralf

I can’t believe that nobody has written a review yet of this wonderful stuff, so I’m honoured to be the first!
This is the latest innovative creation from the Leafology studio and I absolutely love it, having used it right from the time of launch.
It’s wonderful as a hand and face moisturiser, soaks in within a few minutes (well, into my dry skin anyway!) and – and this is the added bonus – the subtle fragrance is absolutely superb!

  2. Adam

The Captain’s Charm is a fabulous product! I’ve been using it, on my scalp, for the last couple of months and it has made a huge difference in terms of reducing a notoriously dry scalp. I’m now using it in all manners of ways: firstly as a face moisturiser and now I’m using it when I’m shaving and I’m really happy with the results. Try it for yourself – you won’t be disappointed.

  3. Jonny

I got this as a present in May and I’ve been putting it on everyday since, as a groundsman my skin can get pretty dry, especially in these winter months but Captains charm has made a huge difference to this!!
As an added bonus it smells delicious too !!
I use it mainly on my face/ head (bald) and hands every morning or after a shave but it feels great on the whole body too.
Thank you so much for making this balm xx

  4. Philippa Kennedy

Absolutely amazing smell, really unique. Lovely for my skin and very multi purpose, I even use it as perfume

  5. Kim

Great natural balm that just melts in to the skin, leaving skin nourished soft and no more dryness. Smells AMAZING and the scent lasts along time after applying but not overpowering. This balm is a great choice if your not a huge fan of a sweet/flowery scent.

  6. Nicky Huffer

This is such a wonderful and useful product. I bought it primarily to use on my extremely dry hands but it is excellent all over the body. It also works well as flyaway hair tamer and eyebrow smoother. The texture is luxurious and it smells out of the world!!! and the tub is a really good size.

  7. Tony Phelan

This stuff has worked like a marvel after I tripped over an unlit kerb and went flying. Only a graze but quite deep and the balm soothed the sore inflamed skin and the wound I was left with. Even better: a friend visited at Christmas and while I was cooking something in the kitchen set off an allergic response. Her eyes became red and itchy very quickly so I tried the Captain‘s Charm and the improvement was visible in a couple of minutes. Anna has just told me she is using the Face Oil we sent her home with and it is improving her usual springtime allergies. We hope it will help when the lime trees come into flower which can keep her stuck indoors.

  8. El

My boyfriend and I both use this as daily moisturizer!!! I love how it feels and makes me so glowy! Also the smell is so relaxing. Only problem is the arguments over who is using it all up so ordering some more for myself!!
