Description
A perfect complement to the Decongesting Herbal Steam, this hot little number blends the six head-clearing, enlivening essential oils of eucalyptus, rosemary, camphor, cajeput, spearmint & peppermint with a wonderfully soothing plant-oil (petroleum and paraffin free) base for a heavenly hit of easy breathing without the synthetics.
Powerful relief for blocked sinuses, it soothes/cools the itch of insect bites, perks up foggy heads and cheers up sniffles. Underneath the effective zing of the essential oils is a nourishing bed of organic raw coconut, tea seed and calendula oils – a godsend for overly-blown/flaking/reddened noses; they soothe, soften and heal.
It’s a year round winner: in spring it’s a boon for relieving/soothing allergic symptoms of hayfever (I’ve been known to secretly smear it around my nostrils to block pollen seeds when modelling out on location in the countryside – sneezing isn’t very photogenic!) and I have happily soothed insect bites with it when mosquitoes took a fancy to me and my friends in India.
Rub it around the base of your nose, on your chest and temples at night for easier sleeping when horribly bunged up, on aching muscles… Really the uses are (possibly) endless; this is a 100% plant-sourced, natural alternative to the usual heat rubs and vapour rubs, and works any time you want to nourish your skin while inhaling something warming (yet cooling), decongesting and powerful.
No petroleum, synthetic substitutes or bad stuff; just (powerful) plant-derived comfort and virtue.
“I had a horrible cold and hadn’t been able to sleep or breathe well the night before. I rubbed some Tea & Sympathy around my nose and on my chest when I went to bed the next night and could breathe much more easily and slept much better!”
Uses & Directions:
Rub the balm onto your skin, chest, nostrils, temples or pulse points as required.
NB. Please keep out of reach of babies/infants – these natural essential oils are powerful and accidental oral ingestion of them could be dangerous.
Key ingredients/benefits:
ORGANIC, RAW, EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL: Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, moisturising, soothing, melts in beautifully.
TEA SEED OIL: Healing, softening, nourishing, packed full of micro-nutrients… See this page!
CALENDULA: The name refers to its tendency to bloom with the calendar, usually once a month or with every new moon. Calendula is often used to treat wounds, minor injuries & infections. It’s gently soothing for sensitive skin (it also features in the mother/baby products) and promotes healing.
ROSEMARY: a favorite of Paracelsus, a renowned German-Swiss physician and botanist, who made significant contributions to the understanding of herbal medicine during the 16th century. Concentration-boosting, it has antiseptic and anti-microbial qualities.
EUCALYPTUS, CAMPHOR, CAJEPUT, SPEARMINT & PEPPERMINT: even when you are so blocked you can’t smell much at all, the sweet relief of these classically zingy essential oils will waft you towards a clearer way of breathing and stimulate circulation and clarity. Respiratory royalty, all five.

Cheyanne Gray –
Absolutely delightful… I use this as a decongestant, a mosquito bite lotion and a remedy for sore muscles… a combination of three products I usually carry around all conveniently tucked into a single plastic free pot! It even smells delicious… I cannot recommend it highly enough!

So gentle, so soothing….
Took a pot to the Antarctic, on a bucket list trip, because 3 flights to the tip of S America means a ‘plane cold’ is almost inevitable and you don’t want a trip of a lifetime spoiled by affliction!
I caught my cold on the third flight, to Ushuaia, to join the ship and breathed contentedly through S Atlantic gales…..
Must see if applying to my nose will deter germs on the next flight.
Thanks Ella Rose for your magic potion.
Emeline –
Thank you again for recommending the sympathy relief balm for my blocked nose when I met you at a market stall! It is really effective, and it was also great to get rid of the redness and pain of my nose after blowing it so much. I’ve also used it on my chest when I had a bad cough to help me sleep. I’ve recommended it to my friends. Thank you!

This balm comes everywhere with me since buying it a few months ago. I bought it to help with a cold and rubbed it on my chest, temples and under nose and it cleared up my nose so much! Once my cold was gone I wondered what else I could use it for. Well I get sniffles sometimes so its handy for that and hayfever has been terrible this year. Such a big help for hayfever! I found it leaked a little in my bag in warmer weather so just wrapped it in a tissue in future just in case. Adore this and I can hardly tell I’ve used it, a little goes a looong way.

Thank you so much – delighted you love the balm so much. Sorry to hear it leaked slightly – the screwtop lid should make the jar completely leakproof but it might be easy to forget to screw it tightly enough shut after use, and in warm weather it will definitely become more liquid. Thanks again!
