Leafology & NASA!! 🚀 (New thing. No big deal.)

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

Ever wondered why I don’t release new products more often than I do?

(I actually highly doubt anyone truly wonders this, since the Leafology range is pretty expansive… But just in case..!)

At any given time, I might have 3-5 products for skin/hair/home that I use regularly myself, sometimes for months/years, but which I don’t actually sell yet.

When something new gets added officially to the range, I’ll therefore have usually been using it myself for quite a while in secret, beforehand.

It’s a bit like how NASA is largely believed to have about 50 years’ worth of technological advancement that we plebs aren’t privy to, which they keep under wraps. (OK, it’s not exactly like that, but you get the point).

3 reasons why I’m not releasing brand new products into the Leafology range every week (but just enough to keep things fun!):

I was intrigued! (I’d never done this before)

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

Have you ever used a scalp scrub before?

I hadn’t, until fairly recently (instead, I wash my hair with this soothing, cleansing powder which turns to lather in my hair), but scalp scrubs are more and more in demand at the moment and can work really well for different scalp/skin types, removing any product build up, boosting circulation (good for hair growth!) and helping with dandruff/related issues.

Although I don’t suffer with any itchiness/irritation (most likely because of the aforementioned routine, thereby having cut out irritating shampoos several years ago!), I was intrigued enough to try a scalp scrub recently (with my nearest Himalayan Herbal Body Scrub), and felt quite renewed! There is something so healing about salt, and when infused with the plant oils, botanicals and softening shea butter, it’s quite the aromatherapeutic experience!

[I’m updating my ‘Rebel‘ page, a list of all Leafology products in alphabetical order, (with their various alternative, obvious and non-obvious uses), as we speak!]

Then I received an absolutely lovely email from a customer, Kim, who described herself as being on a ‘hair journey’. She said:

Drops of Sun | Captain of Recovery

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

Hello! 🌿

I have now started keeping the 20ml-bottle version of the Sun Drops in my handbag (it’s a zinc-based mineral sun protection, roughly equating to SPF 30), but my past self of 5 days ago had not yet re-jigged my life accordingly for this new season of ACTUAL SUNSHINE, and therefore picnicked leisurely and unwittingly. It was glorious – I LOVE the sun – but my forehead paid the price. Luckily, it wasn’t a proper burn, more of a ‘warning’ (which my current self has taken heed of), and I just want to quickly rave about how well the Captain’s Charm Everything Balm sorted me out afterwards, as an aftersun.

My red-tinged forehead is now totally normal again (in fact it was fine again within 24 hours; I just applied it at night and woke up recovered!), no longer tender to the touch and not ‘tight’ feeling at all. It may be all the hemp in it – hemp is a famously healing herb – or the other 21 plant-powered ingredients. If I were to quote myself, I’d probably say something like ‘the Captain’s Charm is a one-pot-wonder to heal, restore and keep your skin looking ship-shape’. 🚢 😊👇

… But yes, although I am year-on-year, head-over-heels in love with the Sun Drops as my non-pore-blocking sun protection for face and body (it’s perfect for people who hate sunscream, or those with sensitive skin, or those who simply aren’t into squeezy plastic tubes/sprays of synthetic stuff – and even gets me compliments as the natural scent is pretty divine), I must remind you and myself that it only works if we actually put it on. 😊 ☀️☀️☀️

Is it just me…?

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

Hello! 🌿

We are officially in Spring (Hallelujah!)!!💐🌷🌈🐰🐇 …And I’m officially sharing a small rant. (Slash question.)

Yesterday evening, I went for a short jaunt through the woods nearby my house… Does anyone else know what I mean when I say I’m struggling with beautiful nature walks which are puncuated by really strong smelling… humans(!!!)??

If you’re reading this…

… Then by the magic of ‘Write Now, Send Later’, a hocus pocus I never normally utilise as I like writing to you ‘off the cuff’ in general… Today must be my birthday!

(Hopefully it’s not raining, as forecast; I’ll be on the south coast of England, sans laptop, saying hi to the sea! ☔︎︎⛱)

Anyway, I may be, arguably, almost-ancient now, but I’m still gratefully masquerading as much younger, thanks at least partly to some excellent skincare. 😊

On that note, I am often asked what my own favourite products are, from the Leafology range. I always skirt around this question a bit, due to the fact that I love them all and don’t want to sway your choices beyond specific issues/problems you’ve asked for help with – I love and stand by them ALL, otherwise a. I wouldn’t have made them in the first place, and b. I wouldn’t have decided they were worth sharing with you! Even so, I thought it might be fun to tell you what I’m currently using the absolute most. (Read on for the rundown…)

A Winter Wonder ❄️ (& a Love Note)

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

A gentle, annual, public service announcement:

💕 It’s Valentine’s Day one week from now. It’s not too late to order something, if you’re quick. Our themed bundles are a joy to receive, and I think the ones below are particularly appropriate:

1. The ‘Winter Wonder’ Skincare Kit (New!)
New to the website, these gift boxes sold like hotcakes at markets in Dec and were particularly popular with (and for) men! Here’s a recent review for the Captain’s Charm [Everything Balm], which we made a fresh batch of 2 days ago, and which comes with the Tea & Sympathy (our natural take-it-everywhere decongestant) and the multipurpose lip balm (which tingles and soothes dry lips and more):

2. ‘The Love Note’
Three love-drenched formulations; a sumptuously spiced, chocolate scrub (for bath or shower), a beautiful plant-powered perfume rollerball and a multi-purpose bath, body & massage oil, which comes with rose quartz crystals and real rose petals drifting inside the bottle. Real pampering and appreciation, in one thoughtful bundle:

How to feel ‘on time’ ⏳ (when you’re always behind!)

Leafology Journal: Leaves, Shoots & Roots

Hello! 🌿

Although we started strongly (with the launch of my latest natural perfume obsession, Siren!), I’ve been otherwise (deliberately) lying low so far in 2025. I’m loving January, and while everyone around me seems to hate it and think it lasts forever already, I actually wouldn’t mind if it was a bit longer!

Why??!
I’m deeply in my ‘winter’ era.
